I played my first game of golf today.
No wonder it’s popular.
As I sit here writing this, a bit sunburnt and a little worse for wear, I look back on today as a good one.
What surprised me most was that the barrier to entry was far lower than I thought. Having barely done more than a mini-golf, I thought would be a major hindrance on the team. This fear actualised quite viscerally on the first hole, where I hit the ball so poorly I could have caught it.
This is a scene you seldom see on the pro tour
But over time, and thanks to a few tips, I acutely had a few good shots, and certainly had a ripper time.
I’ll be back.
