I went with a friend to the basketball tonight, and due to the team (Sacramento) and time (Thursday night), there were plenty of tickets available.
In the US, unless something has gone terribly wrong, every game sells out. This is due to their dynamic pricing strategy; I’ve seen tickets for baseball games as low as $4. So for my pal and I, it was our lucky day.
Every time I have been to the basketball prior to this I have sat right up in the gods. On at least one occasion there row behind me was literally a concrete wall. It’s a fun experience, but the game becomes a bit of a sideshow.
Sitting in Row 14 is another matter. The fans are more intense, the action is more visceral. I’m still price sensitive, so I won’t break the bank, but it was a great experience.
