I’m usually a bit of an underdog supporter when it comes to sports; a rather common disposition. However, there are a few exceptions that I have recently been thinking about.
First off, I’m a fan of Patrick Mahones, the QB for the Kansas City Chiefs. They have won the past two Super Bowls, and booked themselves into the Big Dance last Sunday, winning by just a few points.
I don’t know much about American Football, and really only enjoy the last quarter. However, when Mr Mahomes has the ball, I have a sense of calm that it’s all going to work out well for him and his team. I have seen it too many times for me to think otherwise.
If the Australian guy watching it on TV with only the most cursory understanding of the rules feels this way, I imagine it has a major effect on his team mates.
I’ll report back in 2 weeks time!
