We had catch up drinks with a few pals today, and it had Ky and I wondering, how do you optimise these things?
On one hand, having a gang of people round can be helpful to catch up with a lot in a limited amount of time. Travelling sucks, and a small child and a long commute make it even worse.
At the same time, seeing 15 people across a few hours means you barely scrape the surface, and again, a child steals attention every which way.
There probably isn’t a solution, at least not in the short run, and might just be the cost of doing business when it comes to maintaining friendships across continents.
Regardless, it was a very pleasant afternoon.
