Ky and I are heading to Italy in August for a wedding, and are currently in the process of finding accom before the event.
This isn’t our first radio, so the usual plan is hit up Airbnb, see a few options, and hit book. Sadly, Italy doesn’t play like that.
First off, it seems like all the decent places aren’t on Airbnb, but rather on websites that were made in 2006. Once you have found it, you have to book.
Oh yeah, they don’t offer that, but they DO have a WhatsApp number you can message them on. No, they don’t speak English, and no, they don’t accept anything but cash.
Finally, the concept of two bedrooms with double beds in them is clearly beyond the comprehension of the average Italian’s proprietor.
It’ll be a great trip, but boy, they don’t make it easy.
