For a while, I have been thinking about this concept of “friendship latency”, or in non technical terms, how quickly two people become friends with one another.
There are a few people I have met where I hit it off straight away. Others have been a slower burn.
What is interesting is that low latency (you become buddies fast) doesn’t have as much explaining power as you’d imagine when it comes to depth of friendship; some buddies I have were pretty surface level until the 4-5 meet up, or longer.
I don’t have a reason as to why some connections happen faster than others, beyond the trivial and the obvious. If you have a better idea, let me know!
