We often hear about the concept of going from 0 to 1, which comes from Peter Thiel’s excellent book of the same name. It’s all about creating something new.
However much I enjoy that kind of work, what feel more common, and probably more useful, is going from 1 to 1.1, or having a marginal improvement. It’s what I am focussing on right now as I focus on enriching datasets, and while building semantic searches around it is sexy, building a slightly more robust set is where the magic happens.
