I have been really getting back into my Duolingo, and am now in the second highest league, the Obsidian league. For those who aren’t language-MAXXXING, DuoLingo gamifies the experience by allowing you to earn XP points, and each week you compete against others for who can earn the most. Finish in the top 5? Get promoted to the next league. Finish in the bottom 10? Down you go.
It’s a good motivation, and once you get to a certain level, everyone is fairly committed.
However, this week has me shook. After 4 days, the leading person, Karl P, has over 6000 XP. I am just over 1600, and 16th out of 20. For context, you could have WON the previous league with a score over 2k, and we’re only halfway through the week.
