There has been a grand robbery in the Louvre. Sacre Bleu!
It’s one of those breakthrough stories that has everyone interested; similar in a way to the missing submarine a few years ago
Three things that have caught my attention:
- There is a non-zero number of people who think petty thieves should be shot in the village square, but simultaneously think stealing millions from a gallery is the coolest thing ever.
- There was a moment of sadness when I learned that the thieves are most likely going to break down their haul and sell them in pieces, versus trying to find a buyer for the crown. It makes sense from a business point of view, but we have permanently lost something.
- The detectives I know need to take some sartorial lessons from the French!
