Last weekend the family did a long walk to a second hand book store. It was great, but what we discovered along the way was far more valuable.
In a small store, next to our favourite ice creamery, is a fishmonger.
Now, for my coastal pals, that might not seem like much a muchness, but for us inland folk, it’s a godsend. Supermarket fish is average at best, and never cheap, so to have someone who brings in the fresh step only 10 minutes from home is a god send.
This evening, I went round to pick up some swordfish. I wasn’t disappointed, and I’ll definitely be back.
