I was running late to the airport today.
That is an understatement; in reality, I was running VERY late. I wouldn’t recommend it.
When my Uber arrived at Melbourne Airport, I was dismayed to see quite the line of cars leading up to departures. Too many, moving too slowly, with too few lines. This flight was going to take off without me.
Or it would have, had it not been for my quick thinking driver. Instead of going up the ramp to departures, he instead went to the arrivals section, the sparsely occupied level below. We waltzed straight in, I grabbed my bags, and checked my bags in with plenty of time to spare.
A relief, and a lesson learned.
