Over the weekend, FIFA announced the draw for the 2026 World Cup. Earlier in the year, Ky and I bought two tickets to Match 31 in SF; now it was time to see what we were going to get.
We already knew which group we had been assigned, and I couldn’t believe our luck when we saw both the US and Australia were in it. One of them would be a good outcome, BOTH of them would be a great outcome. The combined off of seeing at least one of those two was a healthy 75%. It felt like it was going to happen.
Whether you’re playing in the World Cup, or watching the game in the stands, it’s important not to get ahead of yourself. Sadly, the 25% chance came up, but after a temporary disappointment, we’re already getting excited about seeing the might of Paraguay take on the pride of Turkey.
Game on!
P.S Game 32, the one after us, is USA v AUS. I try not to think about it too much.
