We’re back state-side, and apart from getting better from a pesky illness, our main goal today was a mission to IKEA.
I don’t love the Swedish behemoth (although I certainly don’t hate it), but I see why people do.
It’s a company that really, really tries. They clearly have an army of people figuring out ways they can make things slightly easier, or slightly better, for their customers. Their staff seemed happy and helpful. The cafeteria dished out tasty if unremarkable meatballs. They had a complimentary craiche, which we didn’t use, to drop your kids off at while you perused the mirror aisle.
We are now one storage system richer, and not a whole lot monetarily poorer. There is a reason why people keep coming back, and it isn’t the meatballs.
