As the clock struck noon, Newcastle had just scored to level things against Barcelona at the Nou Camp, and I was really starting to dream. I had been thinking about possible flight options, and was the step before firing up Skyscanner with card in hand.
Fast forward 45 minutes, and Newcastle limp off 7-2 losers. It turns out there are levels to this game.
A disappointing afternoon turned into a wonderful evening though, as a pal and I had a dad-daughter BBQ at Sloan’s Lake, easily Denver’s most picturesque park.
We fired up the public charcoal grill, cooked up a feast, looked over the mountains and played on the playground. We all had a blast, and can’t wait to go again soon.
