I’m not a huge fan of the NFL. Take that in the literal sense; I don’t mind it, I just don’t revolve my life around it.
It goes for too long, the rules are too complex, and having grown up overseas, am not part of the “culture”. To compound things, the one game I went to live was freezing cold, and I think that had an impact.
Regardless, there is a place in our household for it, at least for me. On Sunday night, after O has gone to bed, the house is clean(ish), and the thing are calm, I enjoy watching the final quarter. It usually finishes around 9pm, depending on time zone, and for all the flaws I mentioned above, the game can really swing back and forth in the last few minutes.
Last night the Denver Broncos beat the LA Chargers, and all things considered, it was a pleasant way to spend a quiet Sunday evening alone.
