In a week, the US midterms will begin. The Republicans are in for a reckoning; and deservedly so. High prices and a war in the Middle East are never going to be popular.
Despite, or perhaps because of, this dynamic, local TV channels are showing endless ads celebrating candidates, or more frequently dissing their opponents. The teams making these ads aren’t particular bright, but I guess I am not the target audience. I don’t vote in American elections, and my vote wouldn’t be swayed by a 15 second clip of an old woman staring at a grocery bill in black and white.
