For the last fifteen years or so, I worn a classic black Swatch Watch. I liked its simplistic design, how it told the time, date and day, and how it was classic enough to wear with a suit, either bathing or formal.
However, I have decided to move away. The last two watches I bought from them had some issues. The buckle broke. The strap sometime caused irritation on my skin. And lastly, the watch developed a bit of water damage and stopped working. Sure, at $70 you can’t expect the world, but I was beginning to feel a bit peeved by the company. May I remind you, I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years.
I have moved now to the Garmin, which not only tells the time, but can be used to track my runs. In 9 weeks I have the Denver Half Marathon, and being able to track my progress is hugely motivating. For $90 (second hand) I think I have made the right decision. I picked the watch up this evening, and can’t wait to trial it out for a run first thing tomorrow.
