The world is full of diverse views, and it always amazes me what people like, even when it comes to weather.
Some people, and I think they’re mad, love humid weather. Others, like my old housemate, thought the moody grey skies of northern Scotland the Platonic ideal. But whatever people like, the exception seems to be windy.
The last few days have been wild. 100mph (160kmh) winds have whipped around our building, causing the concierge to lock it down. Trees near us remain rooted, but the whole city seems to have been slightly shocked by the whole experience.
Things were milder today, and by tomorrow I hope things are back to normal. Still, Chicago has given up it’s identity, at least for the a weekend.
