In less than two hours time, my best friend Lachy is going to be married to the love of his life. So far, everything has been nothing short of wonderful.
Last night was drinks with the family, and it was a great chance to catch up with old faces and meet the new ones.
Good weather isn’t critical, but it sure is nice. Autumnal weddings in Tasmania are a risky business, but it is absolutely turned on today.

For the guys, a morning before the wedding can be quite empty. While the bride can be up before dawn getting hair and make up ready, for the groom, it doesn’t take too long to put on a suit and brush your hair. Sitting around is boring and stressful, so instead, Lachy and a few buddies decided to go shooting.
I quite like shooting clay birds, or as I prefer to call it, “making clavy”, a pun on “making gravy.” Enjoying something is the first step to becoming good at it; unfortunately, I’m not there yet. We ran a 12 round comp, and I hit only 25% of the targets. Meanwhile, Lachy’s brother-in law hit 10 in a row at one point, and we genuinely worried we would run out of ammo.

Right now I’ll stop, as I need to get ready for the wedding. I’ll bring you part 2 tomorrow about the event itself.
