I recently injured my back, and while it has improved (a lot!) I’m still not at 100%. To deal with this, my wife and I have decided to upgrade to premium economy for $500 going from Auckland to Vancouver, a journey of 13 hours.
I have never flown higher than economy, and I’m certainly appreciating some of the benefits on offer. It’s very much still economy (no lie flat, the dream) but premium. More space, slightly better food, and a better experience in general. If my back wasn’t on the blink, it might not be worth it, and I can’t afford lifestyle creep to make this a common habit, but it is nice!
