Today was Mother’s Day, a very important day. What was special about this year’s event was that it is the end of an era; instead of celebrating one mother from now on, I’ll be celebrating two.
Most of you dear readers already know this, but Kylene is pregnant with our first child. We’re expecting it in October; and yes, it is indeed an it, we won’t know the gender until the day of.

Becoming a parent is a weird mix of emotions. As I don’t carry the baby, there remains a certain level of abstraction to this event, whereas for Ky, the baby is very much an ever present fixture. But each day that passes makes the experience much more real; the ultrasounds, the biological changes, and the growing pile of books are all signs that things are going to change soon. Big leagues.
