At the Airbnb we are staying at, there is a stray (??) cat that has been following us around. He’s a very fine specimen, but rather thin, and quite shy. This evening, while Ky and I were enjoying our dinner, he mustered up the courage to join us. He must have been hungry, because he got stuck right into licking the salad bowl.
Now, I’m no veterinarian, but if a cat is chowing down on the coleslaw, he’s probably pretty damn hungry. We went back to the fridge and gave him some milk, which he, excuse the pun, frothed. He liked that a lot, and allowed us to pet him. It feels like we have a new friend.
But a new friend is not a new pet. Ky and I have been debating whether we take him with us, but all signs point to no. First off, apart from the slender frame and no collar, we have no idea whether he is a stray or whether he’s the neighbours. Plus we don’t have any cat material, and a stray animal isn’t exactly what you want around a newborn baby in 4 months time. I mean, it seems an obvious no.
But he sure is cute.
