Finding a rhythm

Today wasn’t a great day workwise. The main reason was that it felt like I never got out of second gear.

Why did this happen? Perhaps putting a list together might make help:

I think a late night last night didn’t help. I woke up tired, and didn’t have any form of morning routine. Easy solution: get a proper night’s sleep tonight.

Not having a clear goal for the day. This was a big one. I had some tasks that I needed to do, but it wasn’t clear and I wasn’t focussed. Easy solution: Write down tomorrow’s goals and time box them.

Not managing my energy levels. Drinking coffee within 90 minutes of waking is a bad idea. Not exercising in the morning is not a good idea. Having a carby lunch is not a good idea. Easy solution: reverse the rest.

Managing my motivation. With Ky away, the day really doesn’t have any proper demarcation points. So it feels like you have all the time in the world to do your tasks, but you don’t. Easy solution: Have something to look forward to, that I will enjoy, and that I will earn by completing tasks.
