I had a good chat with my friend today about AI. Jason is quite the expert, and it’s always fascinating listening to him lay out what is going on.
In some ways, the space is more than an industry, it’s a season of Game of Thrones.
You have a few heavy hitters out there; Elon, the man who wants to be King, has had a falling out with the actual king, Sam Altman. But there are other players; Yann LeCun, a computer scientist who has been having a tête-à-tête with Elon online for quite some time, and recently went on Lex to ratchet things up a notch. And to top it off, Leopold, a Gen Z wunderkind, who has gone on a tear recently with a 160 page essay on how AI could reach super intelligence levels quickly, and pose a civilization risk.
I’ll read the essay and listed to the podcast this week, but for now, I’m glad I was able to have this chat with Jason.
