My sports watch hit the hay last week, so I was in the market for a new one.
In the past, I have usually gone with the classic black Swatch, but over the years I suspect they have downgraded their quality. They used to be terrific, but now, while still handsome and affordable, I just can’t trust them.
On this occasion, I decided to trial out the Apple Watch. I managed to find one on the Wild West of Capitalism, Facebook Marketplace, and met “Gyzmo”, a former vet turned cross dresser who was about to move to the Arizona desert to meditate for an as yet to be determined time. Not exactly a candidate for Apple, hence the bargain.
We both walked away chuffed.
Do I think the Apple Watch is a game changer? Not really. I feel there is functionality that I’m leaving on the table, and it needs to be charged a LOT. But, it does track my sleep, steps, and movement, and I have noticed it nudging me very slightly towards a more active lifestyle.
It won’t be my next watch, although I have the six and they’re past ten in terms of series, so maybe the newer ones are amazing (big doubts here). However, for the price, I could be doing a lot worse.
