I’ve been seeing a bit of a lag in computer performance recently, which I simply do not have time for. That isn’t controversial; I know you are exactly the same.
The worst thing is that I wasn’t asking the world; all I wanted to do was share my zoom screen while having a few tabs open and maybe Excel. Not exactly 4k editing while running a bitcoin mining operation. Not only was it getting worse, but it was threatening to spill over into my professional work, which was the red line.
I considered upgrading my laptop, especially with the holiest of American holidays, Black Friday, around the corner, but figured I can solve 90% of my problems by just upgrading my RAM. Now, I don’t know the specifics of it, but think of it like an extra engine, except it only costs $30.
Opening up a laptop case to see the components is like writing code into the command prompt; it makes you feel smarter than you are, accompanied with more than a whiff of “if I screw this up, this thing is toast”.
Fortunately, the RAM is in, there has been no explosions or even smoke, and the engine(s!) are now running like a charm.
