It’s the start of the Australian Test Summer, and I’m pumped! It’s not only on at the perfect time (7:30pm start) but it’s against one of my favourite teams to see, India.
It’s just hit lunch, and it looks like the Indians have really struggled. The pitch isn’t doing a huge amount, but the bowling from Australia just looks sensational. Regardless, the maxim “never judge a pitch until both sides have batted” is one you should ignore at your peril.
The other thing I like about the game is how it doesn’t monopolize my attention. Test Cricket is a slow game that unfolds in chapters, so looking away, writing this blog, crushing some Duo etc doesn’t take away from anything major. In fact, I often prefer listening to the radio vs TV, with so much dead time to cover, the commentators have to fill it with waffling on about the “good old times”.
Octavia has been passed out on me the entire time, so I don’t know if we have a fan yet, but hopefully the subconscious mind is picking it all up!
