  • Fishing Rod

I saw a woman fishing the other day while walking with Octavia. Incredibly, she caught one while we were watching! Not to be outdone, I found a $40 rod on Facebook marketplace, some hooks and sinkers, and tonight, cast off. Not even a nibble. But it was 45 minutes spent enjoying the sunset, listening to…

  • Growing up

I’m middle aged now; in fact, in the poorest countries in the world, I’m actually pretty old! While I don’t feel much different than when I was in my 20s, unless I have drunk too much the night before, I do notice odd changes here and there. For example, tonight I was driving back in…

  • Fast forward

There really can be too much of a good thing. I was watching the highlights of Match 4 of the Ashes this evening, and after just 1 day, the match is more than half over. Depending on how things go tomorrow, it could be all over before Day 3. A fast game is a good…

  • Merry Christmas

It’s been almost 700 days since I started this project, and I’m glad I did. It’s been a chance to figure my thoughts out in real time, create a memory bank, and spend the flashest of flashes doing something creative each and every day. Thank you all for reading, commenting, and sharing your thoughts. Merry…

  • Tres Commas

Regular readers will know that my favourite piece of software is Cursor, an AI-powered coding tool. There are so many things I love about it, but the main thing is this: it allows muggles like me to build things in code cheaply, quickly, and effectively. Today, Cursor emailed me to tell me what my usage…

  • Jimmy Carr

My wife and I are big fans of Jimmy Carr. Which is a bit unusual, because I didn’t think his brand of comedy fell neatly into the venn diagram intercept of what we both like. However, its not his jokes that keep us coming back for more, but his more serious conversations. I took today…

Why I started this blog

I don’t really use Social Media anymore; I’m too young for Facebook, too old for SnapChat, too normie for Discord and too boring for Instagram. While this buys me back time and peace of mind, it means that it can sometimes be difficult to share my life with my friends and family outside of phone calls and in-person meetups. As I live overseas, this can be a difficulty.

With this in mind, and inspired my friend Dan Cullum (check out his fantastic site HERE), I have started a daily blog. Not only will I be able to share my ideas, news, and stories to friends and family, but it serves as a time capsule as I move through life. In the future, I look forward to seeing how my views, opinions, and ideas change over time. At the very least, it is an exercise in discipline, and may be of interest to my descendants at some time in the future.

While I imagine most followers of this blog will be friends and family, all are welcome to subscribe. Feel free to email at harry@harrywetherall.com, I reply to every message, and would love to hear from you.
