I am sitting on the tarmac at SFO, preparing to make our final leg to Denver, and home. It’s been 58 days since we were last in town.
We’re very fortunate to be able to spend this time in Aus and NZ over the past two months. We have done and seen a lot: two amazing weddings, many dinners with family and friends, countless beers (that’s mostly me), and a chance to meet our niece. Thanks to Zoom, laptops, and frankly, Covid, Ky and I have been able to manage our careers while bouncing between Melbourne, Auckland, and Northland. It hasn’t been easy, but it has been possible.
I don’t think we will be doing something this ambitious again anytime soon. Packing and unpacking bags, managing logistics, navigating time zones, and foreign beds take their toll. But as we fly back, I’m glad we did it.
