A lot of the time, people just chuck them raw onto a grill or pan, which has its time or place,, especially when feeding a crowd. The downside of this is that you’re often over cooking the snag, causing the juices to run out.
By boiling the sausages before hand, you gently cook the meat while ensuring all the flavor stays in. The outside can look a bit anemic, so I always follow it up with a quick sear each side to give it some texture and extra flavor.
It’s definitely worth a try next time you’re cooking, and whatever you do, don’t prick the sausages!
