Note: this post should have gone out last week, but it got stuck in drafts.
We are on the plane home. Occi is asleep, so is Ky. It’s been a busy holiday.
I’m glad we came. London, despite its many faults, is a second home to me. Every time I touch down, it feels comfortable. Familiar. And exciting. Unlike a friend, I don’t get teary eyed when I touchdown at Heathrow, but I always enjoy my time in the capital.
Having a weekend of near perfect weather didn’t hurt.
Italy was different. I rarely get to see my sister, so having 4 days with Victoria and her fiance Jim was very special. In just under three months, they’re going to get married in Australia, and I can’t wait for that. It will be a very special day.
Talking about weddings, seeing Charles and Elisa wed was one of the highlights of my year. I have known Charles for many, many years, and it was great to see him put together an unforgettable few days. Like many people, I’m a big fan of cross-cultural weddings, they are always exciting and fresh.
Overall, it was a perfect mid year break.
