Octavia received her Australian Certificate in the mail today, so she’s officially “on the team”.
Having dual citizenship is awesome.
Kylene and I have both benefited from our British passports when we worked and studied abroad (Ky studied in Germany and worked in England, I did it the other way round), and hopefully Octavia will have opportunities open up for in the future.
More importantly, it means she has another home. She will always be an American, and I am bullish that this is, and will continue to be, a good thing. But neither Ky or I are, and our paths are likely to lead us back to the South Pacific.
Now we just need the passport to save on those pesky NZ tourist fees!
