Looking after a baby means that your list of hobbies can’t involve hiking the Inca Trail on a lark, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have ANY time to do interesting side projects.
Today, after putting it off for a while, I got back to my software project. It is small scale, and will remain unknown to all but JT (you know who you are), but the outcome isn’t important, the process is.
You don’t have to have cancer to be an oncologist, but I think it’s worthwhile for anyone who works in the software space to be somewhat aware of how the sausage is made. And it is also kind of fun, not in a heli-skiing the backcountry kind of way, but more like solving a jigsaw puzzle, or a massive sudoku.
I look forward to attacking it again tomorrow.
