Cora

I used to practice Inbox Zero, or at least my version of it. To do this, I more or less opened every email, with the occasional “mark all as read” cheat.

It worked, until it didn’t. The rate I signed up for things exceeded the rate I unsubscribed, and over the years, it has grown to the point where I’m averaging, probably, 500 emails a day. It’s absurd, and it’s way, way too much.

Gmail does some of the heavy lifting by triaging the spam and promotions (“Someone you haven’t talked to in 17 years just got promoted!”) but that still leaves a lot of fluff.

As I write this, I have 3000 unread emails. 98% of them have very little use to me.

A few days ago, a solution arrived. Cora is a free service that reads your emails, and then twice a day, gives you a brief on what was in there. For emails it feels are important, they go straight to your inbox, but for the rest, you get a scrollable summary.

So far, I’m loving it, and is has solved a problem I was aware of, but hadn’t fully articulated.

As an early beta user, I have a link that allows you to skip the waiting list, which can be accessed HERE.

I’m not remunerated in any way, I just wanted to share something I have found super useful.
