A few months ago, FIFA ran an initiative where you could buy an NFT. Now, I don’t go in for this kind of scam usually, but these monkey pictures were different, as they also contained 2 tickets to a random Club World Cup game (we didn’t go) and 2 Right-To-Buy tickets for a random game in our city of choice (SF).
Of course, we didn’t get tickets to the final, but we did get the option for a group stage game. Cool.
A few months past, and I start receiving emails from FIFA saying that the time to convert our Right to Buy to actual tickets was coming soon. 72 hours. 48 hours. 24 hours. So far so good.
And then the whole system crashed. That was last week. FIFA then decided to make it a staggered approach, and told me to check back in a week.
A week passes. An email tells me to log back in.
Broken.
“Exceptional circumstances cited”.
Tells me to log back in tomorrow.
Meanwhile, some people are getting glitches where they’re buying tickets for literally $0, whereas others are paying and not getting anything.
A disgrace.
