You don’t have to be an American to have heard of the DMV – the bureau that overseas all automotive rules, regulations, and licensing.
Most countries do a pretty crummy job of it; and the propensity to complain about these things is even more common. Regardless, it was a bit over 2 hours of my life I will never get back.
All we really had to do was a theory test. Multiple choices, computer animated. As per usual, Ky and I compete to get a higher score; we ended up getting the same. Some other candidates didn’t share our passion for Colorado driving legislation; some poor girl next to us failed her test, went straight back up to the desk, swiped her card, and instantly redid it. Now that’s what I call efficiency.
Sadly, she failed the second time as well.
Ky and I are now proud owners of Colorado learner’s permits, and a debilitating sense of dread knowing that our roads are filled with morons.
