There really can be too much of a good thing.
I was watching the highlights of Match 4 of the Ashes this evening, and after just 1 day, the match is more than half over. Depending on how things go tomorrow, it could be all over before Day 3.
A fast game is a good game. But too fast, too furious, and the wheels fall off. There is no time for drama and intrigue to build. No speculation. No “will he, won’t he”.
Plus for punters hoping to go on days 3, 4, and 5, a complete disaster!
