Our long series of flights this trip is almost over; thank goodness.
We are descending into Auckland now, and due to some foul weather in Melbourne, we’ve been slightly delayed. If we get to our car by 1:30 AM, we will have done well.
Ky and I are very fortunate to be able to spend long periods with family and friends abroad while still holding down our family and professional commitments. However, they do come at a cost, and that cost is starting to compound. Time zones, logistics, blocked ears; they’re all tradeoffs we (happily!) make.
For those interested, we are spending one last week in NZ to spend time with my SIL and BIL, and of course my niece. Hopefully they’ve found a rhythm over the past 9 days we have been away.
Then it’s finally (FINALLY) back to our own beds in Denver. I speak for all of us when I say we can’t wait. It’s been a very special time, we went to some incredible and frankly unmissable weddings, and have loved every moment with baby Olive.
