We flew into Florence today, ready to spend a week or so in Italy before our friend’s wedding. Tuscany is a beautiful part of the world.
The hardest part of the journey hasn’t been from our accom to the airport (seamless, thanks to the public holiday induced traffic absence), boarding our plane (London City truly is the best airport in the UK), or our flight across (seeing the Alps from the air is well worth it).
The hard part was getting out of Florence! It took us about 40 minutes to just get out of the city, which is impressive, as our destination was only 50 minutes away. A lot of missed turnoffs, Italian traffic, and a lack of aggressive honking on my behalf was entirely to blame.
It’s all part of the adventure.
