Skype was one of the first technology companies I used which felt like magic. Calling people with clear audio and video, for just a few cents a minute, wherever they may be in the world. This was at a time where people were still going wild over 10 cent texts.
It’s now gone. And not because of competition, but because morons at Microsoft wanted to roll it into Teams. Luckily there are alternatives like Viber (which I hadn’t thought of for 14 years), but still, it seems like all good things come to an end eventually.
