We drove home from Mansfield slightly worse for wear this morning. It’s slightly under three hours, and the weather was horrendous.
When we arrived in Melbourne, we knew what we needed; a big, steaming bowl of soupy noodles, and so it was straight to Basil Leaf Vietnamese to scratch our itch.
It did.
Vietnamese food is wonderful, and when you’ve had a few late nights on the razz, the broth and herbs are just the ticket for feeling slightly more human.
We had such a nice lunch that come dinner time, despite being surrounded by many, MANY, great places, we decided to return for round two.
The laksa in particular is good, and while I prefer my char kway teow with fatter noodles, it is still excellent.
Highly recommended!
