I’m back. Some call it heaven, some call it hell, and millions call it home. I’m very glad to be here.
It’s going to be a whirlwind. I have a visa appointment tomorrow, and then it’s back to it work-wise. Within that time, I have found some time to catch up with a bunch of friends, which is my #1 priority when I’m in this part of the world. The Tower of London can wait another day.
Priority number 2 is to figure out how the UK is going. As a citizen and former resident, I have a vested interest in how the nation is going, and what direction the nation is heading.
I’ll find out tomorrow. I have a little tradition whenever I come to London and I’m my own. Grab one of the local papers, always low brow (Sun, Mail or Express) and read it at a greasy spoon. I take my time, usually an hour or so, and go from start to finish.
That should be a good start, but it’ll be chatting with friends and absorbing the zeitgeist that will make the real difference.
