I have had the good fortune of having a mentor for the past 10 years. We don’t speak regularly, but when we do, it’s always energizing and clarifying. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Part of our conversation strayed into technology, and how Meta has FINALLY come to the party. I am still prone to write them off, but Justin was more sanguine. He told me that he had dismissed Zuckerberg before, and it didn’t work out too well.
That’s an unusual and interesting thing to say, is it not?
Justin was a student at Harvard with Mark Zuckerberg, and sat behind the Winklevoss brothers in the Varsity Eight. Because of his relationship with the brothers, and the famous blowup between them and Mark, he turned down the opportunity to be an early investor in Facebook.
