We are back in Auckland now, back to reality really, but today we were fortunate enough to go for a long, leisurely lunch at Mudbrick. One of Waiheke’s best restaurants (and they have a few!), it was quite the experience.
New Zealand isn’t a perfect place, but it does have exceptional food.
Looking over the harbour, with a glass of wine and some fresh scallops, chatting with your life partner, on a beautiful summer’s day, is about as good as it gets.
The rarity of these occasions only makes it more special.
P.S big shout out to Bob who saw us hiking up the 3k hill to the winery and offered to drive us all the way to the top. You saved us half a bucket of sweat each!
