No Train, More Pain

I ran the Denver Half Marathon today, after completing a rather haphazard training regime. I had only done one or two runs over 7ks, plus a bunch of 5km runs, so I was worried I was going to be put through the wringer.

You’ll be glad to know that it actually worked out rather well. Maybe the training did work, or maybe the new socks I wore had a bit of extra pep. Personally, I think having Ky and a few friends around the course cheering me on made all the difference.

All in all, I finished in a time just over 2:11, which I thought was pretty dandy for an interrupted training program, high altitude, and a course w a few hill around. For those without Strava, here is the info.

The rest of the day was followed by brunch, a much needed nap, a wallow by the pool, and then nachos while watching the NBA playoffs.

Overall, a great day.
