Not Appy

Our place has a “smart” dishwasher that has Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity.

I hate it.

I mean, it cleans perfectly well. But for me to change settings, the dishwasher encourages you to download an app, create an account, with password (must include a number and symbol; can’t have anyone hacking into your dishwasher!), connect it to the Wifi (retried 3 times, name the device, download an update, download another update, select the setting, press go, close door.

2.5 hours later, the dishes are washed.

It’s completely unnecessary, and the only added benefit is that I can remotely turn on the dishes (useless) and see how much time I have left (1% less useless).

This is why people hate technology.
