We went to Ikea today to pick up a bookshelf. Little did our friends in Sweden know that this very reasonably priced piece of flatpacked furniture was not going to spend its life holding up books, but rather our pantry items.
For the past year we have been squirrelling cans, bags of rice, and sacks of potatoes in and out of tiny cupboard spaces. It meant we were always missing stuff, or buying ANOTHER tin of coconut milk when there were already 3 in the cupboard. The whole thing was just so tiresome.
Having a proper pantry is awesome. With doors installed, it looks the part, and being able to quickly view and select any item you need in an instant is frankly terrific.
I just wish we had done it earlier!
