Presentation

I had a very important presentation at work this afternoon. After the C-Suite, including the CEO, were there to hear my thoughts on DMUDU, aka Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty.

It’s a field of study that I’m trying to get my head around, with marginal luck. It’s a discipline that tries to answer questions regarding what to do in scenarios where you have very little or no information. Not always easy.

Truth be told, it went very well. My three takeaways were the following:

  • Being a good audience member is a real skill. Our CTO asked the right questions, put me at ease, and really helped out without being over the top. I messaged to thank him afterwards.
  • HTML > PowerPoint. These days, you can build far better, and more interesting, websites to showcase your work than the boring old PowerPoint. I would recommend making the switch, or at least exploring it.
  • If your contacts are feeling a bit fuzzy, don’t aggressively rub them to the point one of the lenses gets stuck behind your eyeball.
