The upset

This morning, one of the great upsets occurred in world cricket when the US beat Pakistan. For context, this would be the equivalent of Pakistan beating the US in baseball, so in terms of upsets, this is a big one.

What has been so cool about this tournament is the mix of teams. For example, the Indian team is filled with superstars, including Virat “King” Kohli, who earns $690k a month from his various endeavors, to Saurabh Netravalkar, the recent star for Team USA. Netravalkar, when he is not playing for America, is a full time software developer for Oracle, and has had to request time off to represent his country at the World Cup. Truly a man of many talents.

I watched the end of the Pakistan-US game, and my conclusion was that what the Americans lacked in talent, they more than made up for in consistency. Being able to do the mundane, regularly and consistently, can take you a long way.

We saw that today.

Anyway, here is my favourite tweet on the matter.
