Season three is back, baby!
I’m not much of a tv guy. While I don’t shy away from YouTube, it’s rare that I will indulge in a series. That might change with the White Lotus, one of my favourite shows of the past few years.
Despite missing the first half, I was quickly thrilled that all the main characters were deliciously unhinged, and in an environment that is both humid and alcohol drenched, that usually leads to explosive situations.
I was pondering what exactly I like about White Lotus, and I think it’s the sweet spot between easy watching and clever writing. Head too much in one direction, and you have Emily in Paris; lovely, but you can skip entire seasons and still catch up on what’s going on in two minutes. Alternatively, I have watched the first few episodes of Season 1 of the Wire at least three times, and I struggle with figuring it all out.
